About the AFF Board

Scott Wilcox (President – J.D. ’08) is an associate in the litigation department at Davis Polk & Wardwell. During law school, Scott was executive editor of the Michigan Law Review, president of the Entertainment, Media, and Arts Law Students Association, and entertainment fundraising chair for Student Funded Fellowships (SFF). He also served on the Law School Building Committee and as a senior judge in the Legal Practice Program. The law school honored Scott with the Irving Stenn Jr., A.W. Brian Simpson, Robert S. Feldman, Raymond K. Dykema, and Jason L. Honigman Awards. Before law school, Scott managed theatrical productions on and off Broadway and on tour. Scott received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Columbia University School of the Arts. Brian Ferry (Vice President – J.D. ’08) is a law clerk in the real estate practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. While a student at Michigan Law, Brian was an active member of the Business Law Association, serving as the organization’s president during his second year. Brian was also a contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform, a senior judge in the Legal Practice Program, and the co-chair of the 2007 Nannes Challenge Committee. Brian received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College.

Carolyn Grunst (Director – J.D. ’08) is an associate in the real estate department at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd in Chicago. While in law school, Carolyn received the Irving Stenn Jr. Award, served as a contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform, worked with the admissions office as a tour guide and orientation leader, and was a member of the SFF Board, serving as both treasurer and auction co-chair. Originally from Boston, Carolyn worked as a litigation case assistant in the law offices of Foley Hoag prior to attending law school. Carolyn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.

Mitch Holzrichter (Director – J.D. ’08) is an associate in the government practice at Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago. During law school, Mitch was a contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform, a member of the SFF Board, the Chairman of the University Code of Conduct Board, and—most proudly—a tour guide. Before law school, he worked for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives J. Dennis Hastert. Mitch received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.

Chris Lee (Director – J.D. expected ’09) was a summer associate in the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP this past summer and is currently in his third year at the law school. Before law school, Chris taught for four years at Public School 16 in Brooklyn, NY. He is a senior judge in the Legal Practice Program, a member of the Nannes 3L Challenge Committee, and a contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. Chris received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, where he majored in History and English.

Grace Lee (Director – J.D./M.B.A. ’08) is an associate product director at Johnson & Johnson. While at the law school, Grace was President of the Law School Student Senate and the business manager and an associate editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law. Prior to school, Grace worked as a paralegal at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and as a refugee caseworker in Ghana and New York.

Hannah R. West (Director – J.D. ’06) recently completed her second year as an associate at DLA Piper LLP (US). While a student at Michigan Law, Hannah was Article Editor and the Executive Book Review Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law and a member of the Black Law Students Alliance. Prior to law school, Hannah was a marketing associate at Random House, Inc. Hannah received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University where she majored in Art History.
